Our Story

Our love for Old Mandeville deepens with every walk on the lakefront or bike ride through the neighborhood. We feel grateful to live here and wanted to give the community a beautiful and welcoming space to work, relax, and connect with others.

Born out of Love for the art and science of coffee and cooking.

Tandem was born out of a love for the art and science of coffee and cooking. Our drink menu was carefully crafted to include high quality specialty coffees, pour-overs, loose leaf teas, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, and craft cocktails. Our friends over at Mojo Coffee (uptown New Orleans) keep us stocked with ethically sourced fair-trade coffees from all over the globe.

The pour-over bar will rotate offerings featuring other local roasters to throw in a little variety. We kept our food menu simple and playful but with ingredients of the highest quality. We are excited to partner with Heidleberg Farms in Franklinton and one of the best bakers we know to bring you an assortment of fresh baked goods, pastries, and seasonal produce

We are happy to meet you wherever you are on your coffee journey; whether it be a cardamom rose latte, a single-origin pour-over, or a simple yet exceptional cup of drip coffee. Our goals are to provide exceptional service to customers and staff alike, without a hint of pretension.

The selection of our equipment, ingredients, and suppliers was driven by my first career as a biologist, and sustainability will always be considered in our decision-making process.

Who We Are

Lisa Landry

Owner

Twenty years ago owner, Lisa Landry, had her first shot of espresso and learned the nuisances of coffee while working as a barista at Caffe Caffe in Mandeville. She gained many years of restaurant and bar experience working her way through college and grad school, and has worked as a scientist and an educator for the last 15 years. Cooking and crafting exciting drink recipes is just as much a science as it is an art, and Lisa looks forward to marrying these experiences and returning to her roots to bring Mandeville something completely unique in Tandem.

Tony Inabinet

General Manager

Our General Manager and Executive Chef, Tony Inabinet, is no stranger to Old Mandeville having grown up on Lakeshore Dr many moons ago. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Tony has amassed a wealth of knowledge amongst a variety of award winning restaurants and chefs; most notably Chefs Alex Harrell and Martha Wiggins (Sylvain, New Orleans), and celebrity Chef Katie Button (Curate, Asheville, NC)
